Download: GCM Outputs

All the GCM outputs are model hindcasts and real-time forecasts, and so are meant for use in predictive analyses and forecasting (there are no AMIP-type outputs, for example). Access is provided to outputs from five of the National Multi-Model Ensemble (NMME) members, and six Copernicus Climate Change Service models (C3S). These models and their model identifier (for batch version users) are:

  • NMME models :
    • CFSv2
(ID 13 - model ID 11 was discontinued in CPT version 17.8 because of persistent formatting problems): with hindcasts starting in January 1982. Available variables are:
      • Sea-surface temperatures
      • Mean air temperatures
      • Precipitation
      • Geopotential heights
A non-NMME version of the model (ID 12) is available. Available variables are:
      • Sea-surface temperatures

If multiple pressure levels are selected, CPT will read these as multiple fields. Otherwise, to combine predictors and / or models, first download the individual files and then use the Data ~ Merge option.

The data are typically updated towards the end of the first week of each month.
